A day in a life with a Fisherman…

The alarm rings at 4:00 am, itchy eyes…
Appointment given at 5:00 on the fishing port of Loctudy gulls are not even awake…

I find John on the dock, hurry up ! , the water looks calm, there is no time to lose. Dressed in a heavy woolen sweater and jeans, I put the yellow raincoat John hands me and my boots…
He starts the engine, carefully maneuver between the other boats and we are heading fishing…

Once past the lighthouse Les Perdrix we head to Glénan…

The show is beautiful, the first rays of the sun are pointing , we are alone on the water… It’s one of the beautiful moments of life.

After about one hour away we arrived in the area. John took the time to prepare the lockers.

It identifies the scene; the eye of the sailor is important… The wind direction, the color of the rocks, the environment… Everything counts !

After having launched fifty bait into the water, we start to recover as of yesterday…

I discovered an amazing setting… Around islands are fringed with white sand very fine, the water is translucent, what scenery !

John is preparing to meet the lockers…

It is the first bin is in the boat, three lobsters and two spiders, it’s a good start… The second is full of… algae…
John shows me the gestures to do and especially to avoid.

After Having reported every lockers, we’re pretty pleased with ourselves, two dozen lobsters and much crabs.

It is already time to set out for the port, it went fast…

John was not very talkative at the beginning of the day is more communicative and we can share our journey…

3:35 p.m. return to the dock…
I had an amazing day… Considering that fishing was good, I’m leaving with two lobster in my basket…

I’ll do it again for sure !
